Another Answer, why USA did not sign UN Conference for Child

"Because of all the parental sexual abuse that occurs in the US. If the US entangled itself in the UN effort half the population would be in court defending themselves. Look at the figures in reliable studies on this topic. They make the Catholic Church look like kindergarten."

I answered, No, that answer does not work. Parents are not a corporate entity that protected pedophiles for decades to maintain profits. The crime was not in the pedophilia, it was in the corporate protection of pedophiles.
