... Not Just L.A., The City of Angels Is Everywhere...

I was age five when the bishop stood over me and said, "Stop babbling about what the priest did to you." Then, forty years later... I started babbling.

Send Shoes to Skip, Call Radio Blah-Blah Monday Night: More Action for Justice in Epidemic of Pedophile Priests

.
A developing art exhibit refers to Mark Twain’s quote: “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes," as well as a recent protest in Ireland over the epidemic of pedophile priests in the Catholic Church, and the artist needs a thousand children's shoes to complete the instlallation. And Jaime Romo, PhD, will be on a radio call-in show that streams online Monday evening.

From Boston, Skip Shea asks that people send him children's shoes, for an exhibit that takes it initial tour through Massachusetts June 2010.

After a protest in Ireland last Easter where children's shoes were placed on church altars and hung outside the cathedral in Dublin, photos of the hanging shoes went all over the globe, coming from Indymedia Ireland. It inspired Skip Shea, a performance artist, actor, and adult victim of pedophile priest activist in Boston, to do an American version of the idea.

"It will be a peaceful exhibit, placing one thousand shoes in rows with a path leading to the middle and a simple statement. Each shoe represents another 1200 victims worldwide of Roman Catholic sexual abuse.

"I need to collect 1000 shoes to complete the installation."

The title Putting On The Shoes, comes from the Mark Twain quote, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”

Shea says, "It can also refer to the notion that the viewer can walk a mile in my shoes."

"It's based on the recent protest in Ireland where one thousand pairs of children’s shoes of all sizes were tied to the railings outside the cathedral representing the victims of Roman Catholic abuse.

"I am a survivor of Roman Catholic Sexual abuse."
