We Were Attacked. There are 100 Thousand Victims. Where is the Secretary of State?

This idea came up at "News Junkies" and I think it needs to be developed. We are casualties:

In News Junkies last week:

Dr. Miguel Humberto Diaz is the American Ambassador to the the Holy See, the State of the Vatican City(1). As yet, there has been no official reaction from Dr. Diaz, on behalf of the United States Government, demanding official accountability by the State of the Holy See to the citizens of the United States of America for crimes committed by its officials against American citizens.

There is a great deal of reaction regarding the silence of the Holy See government, and its head of state Pope Benedict XVI, regarding these atrocities. The silence of the American Government, charged with the protection of its citizens, against all enemies foreign and domestic, is somewhat more puzzling.

One of the best analyses, NewsJunkie points out, the epidemic of pedophilia in the Church is like US children were attacked. So why haven't the Secretary of State and other foreign relation officials stepped in to demand an explanation?
